The Position: Copywriter

We’re looking for an experienced Copywriter to join our team to create world-class copy for brands spanning consumer packaged goods, spirits and craft beer, hospitality, outdoor adventure, elite motorsports, footwear, and more.

This is a full-time role, based in Austin, Texas.

Our best copywriter fit is someone who is comfortable wearing many different hats and finds joy in a wide array of writing tasks. You will be responsible for crafting the voice of brands across multiple touchpoints, including packaging, web, physical consumer experiences (retail and events), social media, advertising, digital media (websites, emails, and digital advertising), merch, and internal projects. You are a highly organized problem solver who can deliver smart copy for multiple briefs, on time.

We’re looking for a writer with a unique point of view and the ability to communicate uncommon perspectives, strike a provocative tone, and spark curiosity. You should be able to understand and internalize brand personality, write in a variety of voices, and present work in a clear and compelling manner. The ability to transcend marketing speak and connect in a personal, human voice is key.


Requirements

  • 4–8+ years in an advertising or in-house copywriting role

  • An exceptional copywriting portfolio 

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively juggle different writing demands

  • Mastery of written communication, both short- and long-form

  • Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation

  • Proven creative chops, and the ability to write in a variety of voices, tones, and styles

  • Experience with consumer product brands

  • Experience in both print and digital marketing/advertising

  • Campaign copywriting and concepting experience

  • A solid understanding of marketing and advertising principles

  • An understanding of the latest trends and their role within a commercial environment

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems, even when they are not fully defined

  • Ability to actively contribute to strategic brainstorming, campaign development, creative brief development, and creative execution

  • Ability to do research, and to distill it into compelling calls to action and easy-to-understand words

  • Ability to thrive as a team player, collaborate openly, and communicate positively

  • Ability to present and sell creative ideas

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • An applicant who shows knowledge and the ability to write foundational brand strategy is a bonus
