Cedar Lakes Estate
The original Hudson Valley escape.
Growing up, sisters Lisa Karvellas and Stephanie Baynton spent summers at a camp their family owned in the Hudson Valley, an hour and a half and a world away from New York City. At the time, it was a training facility for Olympic athletes and soccer players. Before that, it was Camp Minisink, a summer retreat for city kids since the 1920s.
A little over 10 years ago, Lisa and Stephanie bought the property and transformed their childhood playground into Cedar Lakes Estate, a rustic-luxe retreat for private events, weddings, and group gatherings. Once-in-a-lifetime is what they do best.
Lakes and pools. Trails and bonfires. Tennis, basketball, and more to explore. Guests enjoy 500 majestic acres, exclusively their own. With countless activities, including movies under the stars, cooking and mixology classes, and miles of hiking trails, Cedar Lakes Estate offers something for everyone in your group to enjoy a memorable, invigorating, and restorative getaway. Their world-class staff and attention to the smallest details make every trip to Cedar Lakes unforgettable. Far more than you can imagine, a weekend at Cedar Lakes stays with you.
Cedar Lakes’ culinary philosophy demands they do things the old-fashioned way: slowly, passionately, and entirely from scratch. Guests experience true farm-to-table dining as they share dishes prepared with produce from the beautiful on-site garden and ingredients from small, local farms. The exceptional beverage program mirrors the fine quality of the food, with thoughtfully selected fine wine and beer, and craft cocktails curated to compliment each season, each menu, and the unique nature of each event.
Stephanie and Lisa’s earliest memories are on the grounds of Cedar Lakes Estate. Growing up there was any child’s dream—white Christmases, fresh mountain air, and lazy lakeside summer days made up the fabric of their childhood. We helped them share it with the world.
And the world has taken notice. Travel+Leisure’s “World’s Best Awards” named Cedar Lakes the #1 resort hotel in New York, and one of the best in the U.S. Condé Nast Traveler agrees, and Hotels Above Par recognized them as one of the Top Boutique Hotels in the World, delivering a unique blend of comfort and charm.
