The Story

When challenged to brand a funky taco joint and margarita bar, housed in a former greenhouse and garden shed, our answer was to lean into the primitive, ramshackle nature of the endeavor. Highlighting the contrast between the taqueria’s bare-bones structure and its top-notch food and service created a quirky, eccentric brand that Austin fell in love with—and named one of the top restaurants of the year.

It’s Nothin’.

Friendly > fancy. A quaint dive bar at the intersection of sweet and sour, De Nada serves up simple, tasty margaritas and uncomplicated yet delicious tacos. Add beer, and that’s the entire menu. Less is más. Your new favorite hangout, plucked from the tropics of Cozumel and dropped onto a parking lot in East Austin. No frill, all chill. Fresh margs and tortillas, made in-shack, each with three ingredients and the truth. Keep it simple, keep it friendly, keep ’em coming. Exactly what you’d expect, just better than you’d expect. Hands down, the best margaritas served inside a repurposed concrete block garden shed in Austin. Flip flops available upon request.
