Omakase is a highly involved, chef-selected sushi experience historically reserved for only a few guests at a time. Tancho’s mission is to bring the delight of omakase to everyone—without sacrificing quality. What sets great sushi apart is the quality of the ingredients. Foremost among them, the fish needs to be carefully selected and served with thoughtful consideration. If the chefs at Tancho are not happy with the cut or freshness of a fish, you’ll never know. Because they’ll never serve it to you. Every piece of seafood on the menu is sliced fresh and chosen for a particular reason: to create the most delightful and balanced meal for their guests.
Our work branding the restaurant mirrors the thoughtfulness and balance of the menu. The logo depicts two tancho fish, swimming in harmony, representing the offering and experience at Tancho. The brand system is clean, intentional, and minimal.
Tancho’s signature color is used sparingly as a motif, treated much like a treasured ingredient. Red dots reminiscent of tobiko playfully adorn the signature takeout box, a sturdy vessel engineered from scratch to hold each item in the omakase. The combination of elegant form and thoughtful function extends to items large and small, from the burnished brass and slate signage to chopstick cards, artfully folded into triangles for diners’ convenience. Deep textured patterning, whimsical interior neon, and understated adornments perfectly balance a design system that offers something for everyone
